There is no magic formula, no magic wand or program. PDFs are the worst source for conversions. Since pdfs will display on nearly every reader why bother, except for the text being too small.
PDFs do not contain the information necessary to a hassle free conversion. They are designed for printing. Willus has listed a whole bunch of resources. You will just have to try and see which suits your needs best, but keep your expectations low.
