In music they have to contend with Apple, Pandora, and Spotify, all deeply entrenched.
In video, Hulu and Netflix have different business models from Prime so its not quite as cutthroat. They can afford to sacrifice android users to drive tablet sales. Plus, worse, if they had a generic android app, the generic Android STBs would undercut the Fire TV. They tend to think ahead at Amazon.
