Is it because the books you want to buy are from one of the divisions of the Big 5 publishers (HarperCollins, Hatchette, Macmillan, Penguin/Random House, Simon & Schuster)? None of these publishers allow discount coupons at Kobo at the US store although their ebooks might allow the coupons at the Kobo stores for other nations.
I thought with the current court settlements (in the U.S.), discounting/couponing was allowed on big 5 books (as long as there isn't an overall loss for any particular publisher)?
