We can install kindlepdfviewer in a couple of minutes thereon and have a much better pdf reader than native one, including all the necessary zooming options, gamma correction to make fonts darker and highlighting by underlining.
Kindlepdfviewer also reads epub, djvu, cbz and features solid folder managment.
I still read a lot on DX outside the house and inside (using table or wall led lamps) without any problems, using gamma correction to increase the contrast when needed.
