Err, not *exactly*. Calibre defaults to EBOK w/ fake ASIN (ie. everything's fine & dandy).

The output setting eschwartz pointed out exists solely if you *want* a PDOC cdeType (ie. personal) instead, something that will happen (during the Send To Device process) to any books with (at least) one Calibre tag matching the string specified in that setting.
