However, in any case, the answer is probably going to be to fix the input epub. Convert usually works, Polishing or Modify Epub might. I haven't tried the epub validation in the new built-in editor very much, but it may correct such problems, too.
Thanks. Actually the epub is one of a pair of 3 part ones that I had merged together as part of a project. I'm not sure which of them it is as yet. I figured out which it was. It's Dorothy's Double. Something in my splicing of the 3 part book isn't working right. I went back over my epub that was giving trouble and must have done something right that corrected the error since it spliced in with the other books properly this time. Thanks for the heads up on what my problem was.
