I find this interesting, but I have looked at a few Galaxy Tab's and they didn't wow me. I preferred my Nook Tablet or Nook HD. I think the build quality of the Nook was a bit better. Not to say Samsung made a shoddy product, just felt a little "less" to me. The only thing I never liked with the Nook HD was the connection/power port. At least with the NT you could charge it from any USB source (might be slow if you use a standard micro USB cable but it DID work. I think they got a lot of problems/flack for using a "looks like a USB port but not quite?" So many people are easily confused. So this time they decided to make it a full oddball connector so people couldn't be confused and cut down on their support calls. Of course that removes the ability I liked.
Are Samsung's easy to root? Or can you side load out of the box? As I said never had one for that long. If so, it should be interesting to see what changes B&N will make to the firmware.
Still it is sad to see them get out of the hardware aspect. Also I doubt there will be another e-ink device from them. Personally I think their Nook Glowlight is a step backwards with its lack of a SD slot. I might pick up one of the older models, I had hoped their next model would fix that issue. But I guess not.
