Remember, syncing between the Kindle ebook and the Audible audiobook requires an internet connection. You don't need to be on the internet the entire time, but you do need to establish your position on the internet at the end of your reading/listening session. If you don't, Whispersync won't know where your position really is and will send you to the last known sync.

One feature you might try for her is Immersion Reading (see the info Froide gave you); but that requires ownership of a Kindle Fire (all models, except the first generation).

As to iTunes, I don't know how that would work. I don't use it. I would assume (no guarantees) that the books should sync in you're listening to them from the Audible app. Hopefully, someone who uses Audible through iTunes will be able to provide a definitive answer.

If you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask them.

Nothing like asking a non-specific question and then wondering why the answer doesn't fit.

My Amazon and Audible accounts are linked. I have three Kindles (two with keyboard and one touch). All of my books are on at least two of the Kindles; my kids have their books on their Kindles and then I have copies of the same books on my Kindle.

So my real questions are:

1. If I have a copy on my Kindle, and she has a copy on her Kindle, how does Audible know which copy to sync to? Will it always sync to the beginning (my book) or will it sync to the farthest page read (her book)?

2. I mentioned the iTunes thing to point out that I don't know how Audible itself manages books. To keep things simple and separate, I would download her book from the Audible cloud onto my device. I wondered if I needed to do something in the Audible app to tell it I wanted it to be linked with the companion Kindle version or is this automatic "feature" on Amazon/Audible's end?

Sorry for the confusion. I actually read the FAQ on the Audible site before I posted and it didn't help me -- that's why I posted here.
