There's also the fact that the author claims to be using this technique with success, but has no other books associated with that name. Call me a skeptic, but I never trust anyone that essentially says, "I'm a huge success, but under another name that I'm not telling you!"

Took a look at the sample. Early in the book is a link to claim a "free gift", a pdf report in exchange for your email address, outlining "marketing tactics". Clever tactic - put the link where people will click it even if they haven't bought the book. Sort of a back-up method of hooking people.

This thing gives me the same vibe I get when the work phone rings and it's someone claiming to be a Google Ranking Specialist.
