The last time I cancelled a membership (Feb 2014), I was offered nothing. But then, I had a free two-month promo that I cancelled as soon as I got the second book. Before then, I had a grandfathered basic plan that I lost when I signed up for the free offer. My membership status now reads - Not Enrolled.

Since then, I was still able to get the $5 Facebook promo, the Buy 4 Get $10 promo, and the first $10 Avis promo. So having not having a membership of any type hasn't hampered my ability to get the promos I want.

What they offer you will more than likely depend on the type and length of your current membership. They may give you a some free credits or a membership discount to get you to extend or renew your current membership.

Or they may offer you the AudibleListener Light Plan (about $10 per year):

The AudibleListener Light Plan is available only on an annual basis and only to Gold and Platinum Members who want to downgrade their plan type. AudibleListener Light Plan members do not receive membership credits but a Gold or Platinum Member converting to the AudibleListener Light Plan may have AudibleListener Rollover Credits that they can rollover when they downgrade. Audible will charge members who downgrade to the AudibleListener Light Plan the yearly plan fee each year on the yearly renewal date.
