Q: What is Whispersync for Voice?
A: If you've ever been so absorbed in a book that you've missed your train stop or couldn't go to sleep, you'll love this feature. Whispersync for Voice is a breakthrough technology that allows you to swit ch back and forth between reading a Kindle book and listening to the companion Audible audiobook without losing your place.
That means you can keep the story going on the books you love, and enjoy more of them. In addition to remembering position, Whispersync for Voice keeps your notes and bookmarks across devices as well.
With Whispersync for Voice you can read on any Kindle or Kindle app and then switch to listening on the Audible app for iPhone or Android and any Kindle Tablet (Kindle Fire HD 8.9", Kindle Fire HD 7", Kindle Fire 2nd Generation, and Kindle Fire 1st Generation).

Q: How do these features work?
A:
• Whispersync for Voice
Whispersync for Voice syncs your Kindle book and Audiobook positions to the cloud. This allows you to switch back and forth between reading on the Kindle or Kindle app and listening to an audiobook on an Audible app or Kindle Fire family tablet without ever losing your place. As long as your Whispersync for Voice-ready device has access to the Internet, the playback position, bookmarks, and notes will be kept across devices without any action required. To read, all you need is a Kindle or a Kindle app. To listen, download the Audible App for iPhone or Android or use a Kindle tablet.
• Immersion Reading
The Kindle Fire HD 8.9", Kindle Fire HD 7", Kindle Fire 2nd Generation have Immersion Reading built into the device. Immersion Reading can be used when both the Kindle book from the Kindle store and the audiobook from the Audible store have been purchased. Once both are downloaded, simply open your Kindle book, tap the play icon in the lower left hand corner and watch your book come alive with professional narration and real-time word highlighting.
Any time you want to pause the narration, click the pause button. No matter what page you are on click the play button again and immersion reading will start from where you left off reading.

Q:I have the audiobook in my Audible Library and have also bought the Kindle version of the same book. Yet, they aren't syncing?
A:If your Audible audiobook and Kindle book are not syncing this may be because your Amazon ID and Audible account are not linked. In order for Whispersync for Voice and Immersion Reading to function properly Audible must be able to communicate with your Amazon account and vice versa. If your username is not your full email address or you are not using your Amazon account with Audible you may need to link the accounts.
In order to do this:
1.Visit
https://www.audible.com/acc-merge.
2.Enter your Audible username and password when requested.
3.Enter your Amazon email and password when requested.
4.Select the credit or debit card you wish to use as the Default Card for Audible purchases.
It's important to remember that from that point on, your old Audible username will no longer work, so you will access your Audible account with your Amazon credentials.
Once the accounts have been linked you should now be able to sync your Audible audiobook and Kindle book.
