It's a shame B&N is getting out of the hardware end. I have a Nook HD+ and really like it. I think it was a really good deal for $149. The first thing I did when I got it was install the Kindle app (the Nook tablet have had full Google Play access for a while now). If you don't like the Nook version of Android you can always make a micro-SD card that will let you boot to stock Android. I gave away my 1st Gen Kindle Fire, I'll never buy another Amazon tablet until they remove the Amazon App store lock-in, it's too much of a pain to sideload apps.
