If you like time travel with a bit of humor, try "To say nothing of the dog" by Connie Willis. You can then search Project Guttenburg for "Three men in a boat" which is the early 1900 novel that the more modern novel parallels.

There is a sequel to Dragon's Egg as well. It's title is Starquake. It picks up the story from where the 1st book leaves off.
