I've read a lot of her poetry. I loved her writing. She had a very interesting, difficult and varied life. I know mostly about her life in Ghana, where she lived in the 60s - there was a large African-American community who chose to live in different Central and Western African countries in that decade. She returned to the US at the urging of Malcolm X, though he was killed shortly after her return.
