I signed up for the three month trial today and am actually pleasantly surprised with the selection for the US. Not all that thrilled with the app for reading them though.
I didn't think about the country restrictions, but that is a shame. Those big name authors are all going to have different contracts for the different countries unless the handled their backlist on their own or all rights reverted. And there are only two companies where a backlist author or self-published author can upload right now so even then, it might be hard for such an author to be part of SCIBD. With all the various retailers and companies there are these days it's gets harder and harder to pick and choose which ones to participate with and so on.
