Well... okay, when I would have to give them a score, Hyperion would get 5 out of 5, and Enymion 4.5. The two parts are very different, in my opinion. Why Endymion gets 4.5? Because it irritated me that Raul always uses 'kiddo' when adressing Aenea :-)
But: you can read part one without part two, but you'll miss out. Part two concludes the cantos, both in contents and emotional - and it is the emotional that is the forte of Endymion (and rise of Endymion). I was really blown away after finishing the Rise of Endyion. Finished it last week actually, and it's still haunting me.
