I experienced long opening times (20-30secs) on a couple of epubs with the editor soon after its release. The files with long opening times had no files in the Text section - I had run the books thru Modify PI. But I was able to open the same files in Sigil, so I did my editing there, and then I was able to open the epub file I saved in Sigil in the calibre editor.

Didn't think too much about it at the time, put in down to a 'crappy epub' (they were converted from HTML), calibre editor teething problems and my scant knowledge about the internal structure of EPUBs,

I wonder if the ID with or without the 'url:' is a red herring, the sole purpose of such things is to confuse the observer
