nah, spell checker wouldn't have caught it as "baited" is spelled correctly.
Reminds me of the time I wrote in a paper about someone being "borne" on such and such a date -- it was 4:30 AM and the spell checker merrily let it through.
Fortunately that prof had a good sense of humor as that was only one of the multitude of such errors on that paper.
(you should always start your papers sooner than 6 hours before the morning they're due)
Didn't mean to be nitpicky, sometimes I can't help myself. Oddly enough, the more obscure, unimportant points seem to be more tempting for me, probably further indication of my own oddity.
