There are many of us amateurs here. All of us had to figure out these sorts of issues that once figured out will make you smack your head and go, duh.

CSS seems incomprehensible until you get it, then you see it really is the only way to go. Hundreds of changes made at once by editing one file.

I see your problem. Images do NOT belong in other files, they belong in the Images folder. Nothing in the other files folder will be displayed. They end up there if they lack an extension, like .jpg, .png, etc that is recognized as an image. If another program put the images elsewhere, drag them to images and make sure you keep all image names in lower case, in both file name and in the html. Doing so is not mandatory, but it will make your life much simpler.

Let Sigil do the work of image importing and making a table of contents, it will save you a ton of work and grief.
