I have an iPad Air and use it for reading PDFs, while I use my Kobo Aura HD for reading fiction. I was tempted to purchase an iPad mini retina instead of the iPad Air so that I could carry both my academic reading and fiction around on one device when I was out of the house (and read on the Kobo at home), but I decided that the bigger screen would be appreciated when reading PDFs of journal articles and the like. Reading these posts I wonder if I made a mistake. I think I will try reading some fiction on the iPad Air tomorrow to see how I like it. Perhaps in two years or so I'll pick up a mini, I do love the size.
