Agreed. Start with Storm Front. Don't give up on the series until you've read book three. I know it can be intimidating to begin a fifteen book series and think "ugh I've got fourteen more books of THIS??" but remember that Storm Front was Butcher's first novel, and he had yet to find his style. Even saying so, I loved Storm Front, and in my opinion, the novels just get better from there.
In either case, give it a try and let us know what you think.
