De registering implies the computer still works

I reformatted my ADE registered, XP computer because the OS became so damaged I could not launch most programs.
So how does one de register dead equipment? My first Astak is dead and recycled.
My first ADE PC reformatted (the hardware is the same). A hardwar 'fingerprint' would help identify and recover a 'lost' registration system. Adobe probably has no interest

in that.
