Currently reading Norwegian by Night by Derek B. Miller. It was listed as one of the best of 2013 by The Economist, and the premise intrigued me. I'm not normally into thrillers, but this one is so far just excellent!

Combines several of my favorite themes: being a foreigner in a strange country, an older hero (82), culture conflicts, generational differences, language difficulties, with a soupçon of political intrigue from the Korean War to Vietnam and the war in the Balkans. Oh, and it takes place in Norway - which is a place I visited on and off for a short while.
