The Kindle DXG. with a Pearl screen (like the K3 keyboard), has much better contrast and a whiter background than the K2. If you have both, the diff is pretty obvious. The original DX has the same K2 screen technology (visiplex, I think?).
No KF8 file capability but most standard E-book readers will not notice the diff (I don't). Still, something that Amazon should have added/updated to the dxg firmware by now imho. I was told a few months ago that Kindle tech services was looking into this but so far nothing has come to pass.
