Did you own the original Nexus 7 or the 2013 model? I ask because I wouldn't have been satisfied with the screen on the original version either. Besides which, anyone who played with the later model in-store saw grainy video of the UI in place of the real thing, which might have helped to secure floor models but undersold the resolution of the high-def IPS panel and probably resulted in fewer sales.

In real life, the screen resolution and ppi of the Nexus 7 2013 are no lower than those of later iPads and the second-gen iPad mini.
