Very true, but that's not the case in this instance. CthulhuChick's compilation made some waves after someone downloaded her carefully assembled work - a copyrighted collection of public domain stories - and put it up for sale on various sites. The pirated make-a-buck version was taken down, but there's no guarantee someone else won't try the same trick...which is why I like to point people at the source. It protects her copyright and keeps scam artists from profiting.
