Did you know that birds of prey were almost eradicated by DDT? They are making a comeback now and their habits have changed a lot compared to the seventies. In my region they live on powerlines next to highways. I guess the noise distracts prey just enough to make them careless and available. Again, fascinating creatures.

The DDT ban may have save the birds of prey, but at a bitter price. Literally, millions of lives in the third world due to uncontrolled malaria, which DDT had nearly eradicated by the mid '60's.......
