Thanks Chaley they were loaded via Calibre itself by selecting them and clicking send to device over a USB connection.
I uninstalled CC deleted the folder, and then reinstalled it issue remained, I then tried a few steps including unticking the scan for new books and again it gave me the error eventually I again uninstalled and this time on the reinstall I unticked all options bar MOBI and it finally worked on the 4th attempt, I then added the other formats in and it seems to be working.
Very strange but thanks for the help
