My closest brush with the martial arts was a book on Judo I bought from the Magic Shop in Norfolk, Virginia when I was in my early teens. A friend and I would stop by a graveyard on the way home from school and practice the moves we saw in the book. Got pretty good at a couple of them. Enough to make a school bully think twice before messing with me again.
