No idea if the books you were looking at were in their actual promotion--BUT I tried it and it worked for one book. Maybe the problem is that they don't have multiple book working? If you are selecting books outside the specific promo, try one of the codes from this thread and it might work (but of course, only one book at a time, one use).
When they run the 30 percent off these books, the 30 percent off code only seems to work with those books. But that may be exactly what you tried and it's broken.
