The latest builds of Koreader no longer have the frontlight coming on when it starts up. If I remember correctly you can select between "big" and small for the progress line at the bottom, plus there is probably a script that lets you set it numerically, there is for almost all such issues.

"Not remaining in standby", does interest me, as I use a slight alteration to the timing for the standby/sleep function in Koreader on my AuraHD 3.2.0. I have left it for a few hours and it was still in standby, but I usually only have it in standby for a shorter period. (The timing settings are around line 300 in "uimanager.lua", I use "timeout = 0" and "self:scheduleIn(2, ".) I use the home icon to exit out to tsherings "Kobo Start Menu" and use the "Power Off" selection for any extended period.

I used to read "BYTE" back in those days, as well (Even after Jerry Pournelle, started trashing my Epson QX-10.).

Luck;
Ken
