@all: Meanwhile, I've just found something on my Mac (Mavericks)... I
duplicated the "terminal", and launched in each of them the following command
/Applications/calibre.app/Contents/MacOS/ebook-edit
It works, thus I have now 2 different EPUB opened enabling me to switch from one to another (eg. to copy/paste some stuff).
