Time of the Aces-Marine Pilots in the Solomons-1942-1944 is a booklet about air combat by US Marine Corps pilots over the Solomon Islands in early World War. It depicts the pilots and their leaders and the challenges faced. It relates not only the stories of well-known pilots such as "Pappy" Boyington, but others such as Wilbur Thomas, who like General Patton, survive being shot at many times, only to die in an accident after the war.
It is copiously illustrated. Being a US Government publication, it is in the public domain.
