I'm happier about the world building at the end of the book, but not yet taken with the characters. I'm not sure if I'll bother moving on to the later volumes.
Next up:
The Grail Tree by Jonathon Gash. The next (third?) in his Lovejoy series. Some bits one winces at, but I like the stories overall.
