You're doing it wrong
. Instead of quoting it, *read* the first post (and only this, the diags mention make me think you've mixed this up with instructions for a K4...).
It's pretty much as simple as putting the right .bin file on the root of the device, and clicking the 'Update Your Kindle' link.
