To tell whether the book is free in Canada, I simply click on the Amazon.com link if that's the only one provided, and there is a link in the purchase box that redirects me to the Amazon.ca store. Occasionally a book that is for sale in the US is not available in Canada as a kindle edition. Usually, the books I've checked have also been free in Canada.
