I have bought close to hundred ebooks in the past 2-3 years from Amazon without credit card whatsoever, using just gift cards (bought online by other people) and my email address that would people use to send me either e-gift cards or ebooks and paperbooks directly.

There were no expiry dates for the remaining unspent amounts on e-gift cards.
