Also, what are you thinking of when you say "hard reset"? A hard reboot (in which case, well, it's just a reboot, albeit a forceful one), or a factory reset? (in which case, besides breaking hacks and clearing the userstore & settings, it doesn't really do much [it certainly doesn't change the FW itself, and doesn't clear some parts of some hacks].
