It's not ideal but I don't know of any better way, except to put all the series stuff into custom columns.

So that's OK, but an omnibus containing books 1 to 3 of a series appears as 1.30 which suggests that it is a mega compilation of 30 books!

Is there are better way to mange series numbering where you may have a mix of single volumes and compilations ?

a format option which dropped redundant trailing zeros would suffice, but I don't see one

pad a leading 0 for single digits (similar to what is done in a 'send to' template for Alpha sorting series
