I am not sure what you are asking.

Calibre Companion (CC) is not a reading app. It is a library organizer that works closely with calibre. As such, CC has nothing to do with books already on the device, unless of course it put them there. See this post for more information about what CC does.

CC can put books on the SD card, taking into consideration all the problems Google introduced with Android 4.4 (KitKat).
