I'm trying to figure out why you have to choose between a slanted screen or a blotchy screen. (Why would there be enough "play" in the Paperwhite to allow the screen to "slant" in the first place?) I think I would keep going until they got one right. It was partly because of this thread that I decided against trying a Paperwhite. I'm beginning to wonder what kind of quality control they have with these things -- if any.
If I had to choose, however, the new one's screen seems much nicer.
