Odd. I just checked the message where yoq posted the update 13 for nightmode (needed for firmware 3.3.0), left clicked on the download and it saved as kobo-nightmode_build13.zip. When I hover on the link, it does show attachment.php with a couple of strings which I suspect are used to identify just which attachment. I tested the download on a Win7 x64 box with Firefox Nightly 32, Firefox 29, Chrome 35 and IE 11 and all of them worked.

Which platform/browser are you using?

If the attachment.php file is 14,128 bytes (assuming you downloaded update 13) or 14.060 bytes (for update 12), you might also try renaming the file to whatever.zip and opening it with your favourite unzipper.
