Truth be told, I did exactly that (and it's my first time actually using using WfV to keep place in both formats!) but doing that way requires spending $3.99 out of pocket.
Applying your $5 coupon to the Audible sale means only spending $1.95 at most, assuming you don't actually want the Kindle book, too.
