Well, it's considered an epic (read: it's l o n g). You really need to pay attention when you're listening to it or you'll get "lost." It's definitely not poetry (what we generally consider poetry, anyway); it doesn't have advanced language structure. I don't remember now, but either Downpour's or Audible's site has a 4 or 5 minute clip that would give you a good idea of the nature of the whole story.
