Can you invert the L-shape, i.e., have the broad part at the bottom? When I try this using the technique above, only the lower part is correctly floating, the upper part is ignored and overwritten by text, although both divs are placed correctly.

It works correctly in firefox, it does not work as epub on a Kobo mini, i.e., in ADE on the Kobo, not their own "kepub" reader. The original L-shape.epub works fine, though. Looks like a short-coming of ADE (at least on the Kobo), but maybe somebody has found a work-around?
