It is a VERY widespread issue. The worst format is for new librarians to receive 'friend' requests from author(s) who then use their new friend as a personal librarian and get them to do edits that are sometimes against the Goodreads rules. When the issue is spotted the librarian can lose their status and the author(s) move on to a new target.
