If this already has a solution I'm afraid I couldn't find it and any "pushes" in the right direction would be appreciated. I know that these are minor issues but this is a suggestion "box" correct.

I seem to spend a significant amount of time fixing the same data over and over due to metadata downloads over-riding changes that I have made previously to fields such a author name sort and series title.
For example I have decided that all authors that use initials for their proper name (first, middle) should be set up as "X. <space> Y."

All the authors with the last name of Firstname St. Something should be sorted as St. Something, Firstname not Something, Firstname St.

The other little problem is that when downloading metadata from Amazon, calibre seems to read bold formatting as astericks and places them before and after the marked text. It also seems to put ### in front of some types of titles in the metadata. I know, this is really small potatoes but when I download and have to edit these day after day, it become potato salad...
