Ordering books from Amazon.com in UK

Hi there,
I was thinking of ordering some books from Amazon.com, but am in the UK. I am confused about import duties and VAT, do I have to pay both, or just import duties, or just VAT? Or are books exempt from these? They are just normal books with no accessories. I was wondering if anyone knew? It looks like books are exempt from import duties and VAT, but just wanted to make absolutely sure!
