Sorry to hear you are in pain and laid up mostly. Glad you have books to keep you company.

I actually read The Cad too from my Scribd trial, like you I gave it 3 stars.

I am so glad to hear that Gilly is the heroine in The Choice.

I haven't bought anything this week, the last book I bought was using the last of the settlement and I have 2 more pre-orders coming in. But otherwise, I will not buy books. I am trying my hardest to stick to that. . I have so many books I already own and with the library, prime loans and now Scribd, I think I have enough to keep me busy for a while.

If I get recommendations I'll add them to a shelf on GR and either see if its available on library, scribd, prime and if not, I'll add it to my ereaderiq list for price reduction.

I have realized that my buying has gone a little out of control last year and although overall I saved a lot of money buying books on sale, I have to read the darn things too at some point. Heck, I have books still to read going back to 2008, so there is that.

If I see a special freebie, I'll get it of course, but buying for now is on hold.

eta: I wanted to add the goodreads shelf I created as I am finding books on Scribd to read. Maybe it will be helpful for some trying to decide. Mind you, I am heavy on the historical romances, time travel, native american HR, back list stuff.
So here is some of the stuff I found that isn't for free on amazon or at my library.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/lis...ser_id=4129885

I am still looking for stuff though.
I also made a list of authors that I found that are mostly back list authors and again, most are historical romance authors.
Anita Mills, Pamela Morsi, Jane Bonander, Sherril Bodine, Candace McCarthy, Laura Parker, Katherine Kingsley, Raine Cantrell, Judith E. French, ALison Stuart, Rexanne Becnell, Rosanne Bittner, Pam Crooks, Ruth Ryan Langan, Patricia Gaffney.

I am still adding to my list.
