I am not at all surprised to find that you are seeing this problem with Charis SIL. I have occasionally seen something like this with beta firmware versions, and Charis SIL has always been the font. I have one book that shows this problem. It is a purchased kepub which I know has Charis SIL embedded in it.

On the Glo, it seems to happen only when this is set, but for the Touch it doesn't matter.
